I have always wanted to try a petrichor fragrance and this is my first. Due to that, I cannot compare is to any other petrichor frangrances. That being said, to put it shortly, this is a wonderfully fresh and complex fragrance!
At first I found the smell to be a bit overwhelming and perfume-like, almost artificial. But diluting it in water, about 4 parts water to one part petrichor, gave the perfect strength for my applications.
The scent is earthy, very natural, and floral. It truly smells like a cozy, rainy spring day spent on the porch as warm wet air flows around you. Some may find the smell to be too artificial and perfume-like, but I would say that diluting it heavily takes that edge off. And frankly that’s also great because that means I can stretch this 16oz a lot, so it’s great bang for your buck!
I have used it as a body fragrance, as well as an air freshener in spray bottle form. This fragrance is well suited for both of those uses.
Anyone who is looking for a unique and high quality fragrance should check this out. From my understanding, this company sources the difficult to acquire and expensive ingredients needed to pull off this very specific smell, unlike other sellers of petrichor fragrances. so if it’s sold out, don’t be surprised! You are getting a luxurious item and this company does everything to remind you, with great packaging, thank you card, an actual stuffed little bee plush, and a separate pocket sized dropper for carrying some on the go.
I give this review 5 stars. If it were out of 10, I would give it a 9, only because there is always room for improvement and this product is about 90% the way towards smelling truly realistic to what it is intended to smell like.
