Low Tide
Low Tide

I'll be honest, I am not a fan of this scent alone. In fact, I legit almost named it Seal's Arse. It needs blended with Seaweed, Ocean or both to bring down the dank, brininess of it. However, if you are wanting your ocean scented products to smell realistic, this is it. My husband has scuba dived the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and says it smells much like the Pacific Ocean during low tide.
Top Notes: Slight Sulphur, Salt
Middle Notes: Green, Subtle Floral
Bottom Notes: Dank, Brine
Flash Point: 210 °F

Tested at 5.00%*. Turned batter a bit thicker, but otherwise stayed fluid for as long as the unscented control bar. No issues with ricing. Scent retention is excellent, and the bars discolored to a pretty peach color.

This fragrance, when blended with other ocean type oils can really take your blends up a notch or two in terms of depth and realism. I use it as a blender in one of my best selling ocean based candles and the reviews have been incredible. It is to the ocean what petrichor is to rain. IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW.
Pay no attention to the review below mine—it is simply not accurate. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and intentional about the fragrance oils she curates. She consistently provides top-quality, beautifully balanced scents, and it’s clear she takes pride in offering only the best to her customers.
I’m currently developing a lake-inspired blend and am considering adding just a subtle touch of Low Tide to enhance the natural brine. The fragrance itself is stunning—that exact moment when you’ve just found a parking spot at the beach and the ocean air hits you. Clean, atmospheric, and incredibly realistic without being overpowering.
If you’re looking for thoughtfully sourced, high-end fragrance oils with true depth and character, this is absolutely a shop you can trust. Highly recommend.
This is what scares me about newer suppliers. I'm used to FO lasting for several years. 5-10, in fact. I've been doing this a while. This particular FO smells like cardboard, and has been in my possession less than a year. I'm saddened because there are so many FO I want to try from LBS. FO is my one addiction... But I need the quality I'm used to. I think if a supplier wants to charge premium prices, they should use preservatives and consider longevity. This is what the suppliers who have been around for 20 years do.
*Edit for clarification:
This fragrance was stored properly and, to my knowledge, smelled normal on arrival. In less than a year, it developed a flat cardboard odor with no discernible marine or ozone notes. Had it smelled this way upon receipt, I would have reached out directly.
This review is based on direct experience, not assumption. Other fragrance oils stored under the same conditions from long-established suppliers remain stable. In fact, your Ocean fragrance is stored alongside this one and still smells as expected. If this scent is intended to smell like cardboard out of bottle, I am open to correction.
Wow! It sounds like we are both old timers. I've been personally making candles since 1993. Fragrance oils are not preserved products and do not remain unchanged for 5 to 10 years regardless of supplier tenure. Freshness and proper storage matter far more than additives. In fact, we prioritize freshness and performance over artificial preservation methods that compromise scent integrity. We welcome questions and concerns, but spreading incorrect information about shelf life helps no one.
This really smells like the funk that is low tide. I am trying to develop a shoreline/oceanic scent and blended it with Ocean 60/40 with Ocean being the higher %. However this scent dominated the blend and not in a good way. I am going to try a 80/20 blend and see what happens. 🤞🏾
Out of the bottle, I get sweet, floral, airy. The briney, low tide smell really comes through in wax. Can’t wait to try it in soap.
Customer service is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. You really can’t go wrong supporting this small business.
