As someone who has a lot of childhood memories of Texas and bluebonnets, I searched for the perfect bluebonnet scent for my cold process soaps. I was hesitant to try it, since the IFRA limit for soaps is only 1.89% for this FO, and I generally don't even bother with anything that I can't use under 3%, but something told me to try it anyway.
Out of the bottle, I was blown away by the accuracy of the scent. But would it work in soap? I made a batch of soap and included 1.75% of the bluebonnet FO. it accelerated trace slightly, but florals tend to do that, so I was expecting it and only did a single colored soaps with no swirling or striping. I tell you what, that 1.75% was more than enough. It is STRONG in soap! My soap batch has only been curing for a week, but I feel like this scent is going to keep holding true.
If you're on the fence about bluebonnet...buy it! You won't regret it!
I am really loving all the new (to me) scents I’ve gotten from Little Bee’s. This is the perfect Bluebonnet scent. Spot on! I can’t wait to put it in a perfume oil!
What’s a bluebonnet, before this I had no idea. I’m super picky with florals and I’m glad to say bluebonnet has been officially added to my must have list! It’s beautiful and a bit fruity, I used my sniffer to test out the hot throw and with the little I had, and it was clearly enough to get me to buy the big bottle so I can use it for every and anything!
When I first sniffed oob this I just smelled florals and jasmine, no specific bluebonnet notes. However after it calmed down in wax it did remind me of the bluebonnet fields in the Texas Hill Country where my grandmother lived. Medium to high hot throw in 454 Cocosoy wax.
