I LOVED this lavender when I purchased it for candles and sprays, but not anymore... revision is needed. Phthalates are toxic. They cause endocrine disruption, reproductive issues, and developmental risks. So adding this oil to a "clean" soy or coconut candle just canceled out the cleanliness.
Hi Diana,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand that ingredients can be a sensitive topic and appreciate the opportunity to clarify.
The phthalate used in this fragrance is DEP (diethyl phthalate), which is one of the most widely studied and commonly used carriers in the fragrance industry. DEP is approved for use by organizations including the FDA, IFRA, RIFM, the U.S. EPA, and the European Union’s SCCNFP when used within established safety guidelines.
There is a lot of understandable concern online surrounding “phthalates” as a broad category, but not all phthalates are the same. Some have been restricted or banned for certain applications, while others (including DEP) continue to be permitted and extensively evaluated for fragrance use worldwide.
We fully respect that some customers prefer to avoid all phthalates entirely, and that is absolutely a personal choice. However, describing all fragrances containing DEP as inherently “toxic” or unsafe is not supported by the current regulatory and scientific consensus.
We’re also transparent about our ingredients so customers can make informed decisions based on their own preferences and comfort levels.
If you would like a Lavender fragrance that is phthalate free, I recommend Lavender Leaf. It’s lovely.

I’ve made candles, sprays, rollers, and soap with this oil. Every customer is obsessed and say how it smells like true lavender. I will never get this scent from another supplier.
